Miguel's Picks for Wednesday, June 26:
2017 The Calling "Dutton Ranch", Russian River Valley, CA
This wine features green melon, pears, citrus and yeasty hints. This light to medium-bodied Dutton Ranch has a good core of ripe fruit lifted by lively acidity and finishes long with honey hints. Only 5,016 cases were produced!
2016 Domaine des Verchéres, Macon, France
This is a great example of Chardonnay without the makeup. Crisp, clean, green apple notes on the palate make this a fantastic food pairing wine.
2016 Landmark Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast, CA
This Chardonnay is one of Wine Spectator's top 100 wines of the year. This beautiful Chardonnay has tropical fruit notes on the nose, followed by pineapple, and an elegant long finish.
Included among Mr. Escobar's favorite wines are Rioja, Cabernet Franc, and Pinot Noir, but he's also a fan of lesser-known grapes from around the world. Mr. Escobar, who earned an Advanced Sommelier Certification from London’s Wine & Spirit Education Trust, holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, a master’s degree in Communications, and a culinary degree from Boston University’s Elizabeth Bishop School.
Mr. Escobar and the rest of our courteous, knowledgeable staff look forward to welcoming you, your friends, and your family each week for Wine Wednesday. Make a plan to join us for an unpretentious, fun-filled evening of sampling delicious wines and learning about a wide variety of vintages from around the world.
